The person who inspires me to see the positive...

This is likely the most oddly inspiring person I know and the fact that she has inspired me in the past little while to see the positive is different. It is different on the principle that normally it is me telling her to be nice or to calm down. But no matter what I think that we will be friends because we can fix the silly little negative things and get through to the positives.

Rachel has gone through a lot in her life to get her to where she is and I am confident she will go through a lot more. I know that she is not always smiling and upbeat and completely happy and positive about life, but I also know that she will be when she wants to be. I like the way she has so many different sides to her personality and that she can be fun and crazy and the best person to cheer you up.
I think what I love most though, is when she stops for a minute and thinks before she says something. The moment right before she says something that you know she thinks is super important that you understand. It might be because she likes to crazy that the moments when she takes the time to be completely serious and honest with me are truly amazing.
Rachel helped inspire me to channel my negative energy from one thing into ways to improve when the times change. She reminds me how to stand up for myself, although that could be out of fear over what she would do if I didn't. :P

So I guess what this post is saying is:
Thank you to one of my best friends. Thank you for understanding me and cheering me up when I am sad. Thank you for those serious moments that never fail to touch my heart. And thank you for reminding me that even in situations that drive me up the wall, that there will always be a next time and I will make it so much more amazing. I love you and I hope you already knew all of these things.

The person who inspires me to stay smiling...

I have been thinking for a little while now about why even in the worst of times I always try to smile. I realize that in some cases it is simply the person who is sitting next to me and is willing to put their arm around me which was the case last night. And I love that person for doing so, but on a daily basis I think the person that gives me the strength to smile is a certain someone.

Mia has been in my life for a few years now. She has always inspired me to look at the good parts of life, but this past summer she made me smile more times that I could ever attempt to count. Even when I was in the worst mood, she cheered me up and reminded me that I am strong, beautiful person.
Mia has inspired me to keep smiling no matter what life throws at me. To be proud of who I am and to stay strong through the easiest and toughest of times.

Mia you are such an incredible inspiration to me each and every day. I think that you are one of the most unique and beautiful people that I have ever met. You have gone through things that I couldn't even begin to imagine, but I am thankful that you did and that you are a part of  my life. Thank you for everything (including picking me up on Friday). I love you and I will see you soon. <3

The person who inspires me to live in the moment...

This one is hard for me because there have been a few wonderful people that have been or are apart of my life that have taught me to live in the moment. The person that has hands down inspired me the most though is Amy.

I have known Amy for quite awhile although I will admit that before this past summer we were not near very close. I think that the reason Amy inspires me is because she isn't afraid to not be ordinary. Since graduating, she has been through the Katimavik program as well as travelling to Costa Rica for a volunteer trip. Amy the reason that you inspire me so much is because no matter how much you travel and volunteer you remember that school is important.
You have taught me to prioritize what I am doing and realize that education is important. But you have also taught me that this is my life to live and to live it to my fullest potential. To travel and do the things that make me happy and not to keep people in my life that make me upset or angry.

Thank you Amy for being such an amazing support for me. And for blogging your blog posts always cheer me up. I miss you everyday. You inspire me so much. <3 I can't wait to see you while I am home. :)

Inspired by Darkness

I am not sure if it is just me but I am often most inspired at night. It is not uncommon for me to lay in bed for five minutes then get up to do something. Whether that be simple tasks like cleaning my room or doing a homework assignment. Or something more thought provoking like making a special card or writing a new blog post.

The simplicity of night time inspires me and allows my mind the freedom of exploration. That combined with laying in the summer grass staring up at the clear sky, nothing can make me feel like that.

So I guess tonight I have the darkness and minimalism of the night to thank for my inspiration.

Swing Life Away

Music is something that makes me feel things that I often don't feel without it. It has the ability to take me to a different place and time. There are many songs that inspire me, but one in particular is extremely special to me.

Swing Life Away - Rise Against

This song has gotten me through so many tough moments, and is often turned onto repeat while I relive some of my favourite memories. I don't know if it the song so much that inspires me, although I do love the lyrics, as much as the people that I share it with.

So this post is dedicated to my camp family. I miss you everyday and I am getting excited to be coming home to all your beautiful faces at Winter Retreat. In the mean time stop for a second and listen to the song I know you can all sing along to. I hope that it has the same wonderful affect on you as it does me.

Swing life away. And DFTBA.

The person who inspires me to love right...

Posts with this title are likely to appear often and each will most likely focus on an individual or group of people that inspires me. So for my first person who inspires me that I will talk about my friend Josh.

Although I do not spend a lot of time with Josh he still plays a huge role in the person I am. We don't necessarily believe the same things but I think that is why he challenges me and succeeds.

Josh is one of the most sincere people I know and because of that he doesn't overuse the word LOVE. I will admit that I tell practically everyone that I love them and because of this it is hard to necessarily believe it every time I say so.
Unlike Josh who only says he loves you to a very select group of people (of whom I am still fighting to join), I continue to say I love you to a lot of people. But I am working very hard to make sure that I only say it if I really really mean it. The reason I won't completely cut the word love out of all the people I tell so is that I believe that everyone should be reminded that someone in the world loves and cares about them. It is so easy to fall into a slump and feel like no one cares if you just drop of the planet.

So to all those that I tell I love you, its cause you mean a lot to me and I care about what happens to you. Never forget that cause I will never forget you.

Thank you Josh for teaching me and inspiring me everyday. I will really not be surprised if I dedicate another post to you in the future. <3

A Little Truth..

I haven't decided if this is entirely true or not but as a rule it seems to make some sense.

Who inspires you?

Who inspires you?

This was my facebook and twitter and blog question in the last three days and yet I am still asking it. I want to know what makes people think or change or even just smile. Who is the person that has had some kind of changing inspiration in their life.

In my opinion this is a hard question because there are so many people who have inspired me. But I want to know at least one person who has inspired you. So if you have read this post please please please comment below and tell me who inspires you. If you want to elaborate with why that is cool but not a necessity.

Peace, Love, and Happiness. :)

May your life be filled with meaningful pointlessness.

"People are incredibly strong beings, and when a stranger says good morning to me on the street, I couldn't be happier, it makes my day! Hearing someone else's story makes you feel like you're not alone, which you're not. So thank you world :] you inspire me." ~Hayley Mummery

I have always been obsessed with quotes and songs and doodles and other little things that may have no impact on anyone else's day to day life but to me they are an inspiration. This is a new blog that I have made to help inspire me and hopefully some of you.

I am not sure exactly what will be on here,
questions that I want to know others answers to,
quotes that make me smile or think,
links to blogs or articles that have somehow found their way to me,
pictures and music, and who knows what else.

Anyways I hope you enjoy and know that you inspire me. :)
